KARACHI, Dec 5: With five successive wins under her belt, four-year-old bay filly Sugar Sweet eyes double hat trick when she appears in the Gymkhana race meeting at the Karachi Racecourse on Saturday.

Promoted to class IV and V div I and II following triumph in the last outing, she has proved her mettle in the last couple of runs and has a spark to do it again for the feat.

She is likely to get opposition from bay Captain Black and filly Baby John in the six furlongs second race on the card which has attracted eight horses.

Either of the two stablemate – Fast Track or Sindh Malook - is poised to pick up spoils in the opener.

Manan Prince and The Reyan should follow the footsteps of winning horse for the places.

Three-year-old chestnut colt Sayeen Jee which is aspiring to claim The 2000 Guineas of Pakistan on Dec 25, is fancied to overcome filly The Victorious by landing The Colts and Fillies Trial Cup to be run over seven furlongs.

A stablemate of Sugar Sweet, Sayeen Jee is on course for a hat trick having missed the same opportunity earlier by finishing off the board in The Eclipse Stakes two months back.

Two other horses in the run are fillies Claim To Fame and Black Velvet.

Having placed thrice two-year-old chestnut filly After Shock looks fancy to claim The Saphire Stakes by making amends this time.

Her likely challengers are filly Lil Kimm and colt Army Of One.

Eight-year-old bay Naseeb enjoyed strong credentials in long distance and likely to rule The Quaid-i-Azam Trial Cup to be run over 10 furlongs.

He galloped to five furlongs victory in The Mile Championship held on Oct 19. Abhi Abhi and Crown Prince should chase Naseeb for the places.

Three-year-old chestnut colt Gold Victory, formerly Haram Tob, should dominate the fourth race where a dozen horses are in the fray.

Filly Nyx and mare Sonia comes in the reckoning for the places.

Three-year-old chestnut colt Giranari to be ridden by Essa should make it three-in-a-row while colt Mushki is tipped to repeat his winning performance in the concluding race.

A card of eight races including three cups has been drawn for the day. The first race begins at 12.00noon.
