LAHORE, Nov 28: World champions Australia are expected to tour Pakistan to play five One-day Internationals and a Twenty20 in April and May next year.
According to a tentative itinerary sent to the Cricket Australia (CA) by the PCB, the Australians will reach Karachi on April 19 to play matches in Karachi, Lahore, Multan and Faisalabad. No game has been allotted to Rawalpindi.
The tour was to be held in March and April this year but the CA decided to defer it for next year due to security fears.
Later, the CA decided to split the tour in two phases to avoid a longer stay in the country. The Aussies will tour Pakistan again to play three Test matches.
A PCB official told Dawn that Australia had almost been agreed with the proposed itinerary, but a final decision would be taken after completing necessary arrangements.
Though the PCB is hopeful of international cricket’s resumption in Pakistan, all depends on India’s tour to Pakistan in January.
Proposed itinerary to CA:
April 19: Arrival.
April 20 to 22: Rest / practice.
April 23: First ODI, Karachi.
April 26: Second ODI, Karachi.
April 29: Third ODI, Multan.
May 2: Fourth ODI, Faisalabad.
May 5: Fifth ODI, Lahore.
May 8: Twenty20, Lahore.
