KHAR: 4 killed as forces pound hideouts

KHAR, Nov 24: Four militants were killed and two others injured when security forces pounded their hideouts in restive Bajaur tribal region on Monday.

The security forces, backed by helicopter gunships and tanks, targeted militants’ positions different areas of Nawagai and Mamond tehsils killing four Taliban and injuring two others, official sources said.

The security forces continued military operation ‘Sher Dil’ to flush out Taliban from Bajaur Agency and establish government writ in the region.

BOMB DEFUSED: Bajaur Levies foiled an attempt of sabotage by defusing a bomb planted by suspected militants in a busy trade centre in regional headquarters Khar on Monday. Political Agent Shafirullah Khan directed Levies force to defuse the bomb after getting information that militants had planted explosive device in a busy trade centre of Khar bazaar.
