THATTA, Nov 24: Pakistan lacks modern technology to stop bombing by the US in its territory but at the same time was hopeful that once Barack Obama assumed the office, the situation would change, said Federal Minister for Privatisation Syed Naveed Qamar.

He was talking to journalists at the residence of Late Syed Gul Mohammed Shah where he had come to offer condolence on his death.

Answering a question, he said that Pakistan was confident about a vital change in the US foreign policy.

Referring to the NFC award he said that Sindh would benefit after the implementation of new setup.

Regarding Qadirpur gas field privatisation, the minister said that though the government had taken back its decision but vested interests were unnecessarily politicising the issue and misguiding people.

Regarding paddy procurement, he said that Passco lacks experience of procurement which led to delay in the establishment of procurement centres at district level.

He said that the government had received complaints against rice millers and action would be taken on complaints of farmer. Mr Qamar said that the sugar factories had failed in clearing clear outstanding dues of sugarcane growers.
