TOBA TEK SINGH, Nov 18: Two youths facing blasphemy charges were arrested on Tuesday by city police in a raid in a Gojra tehsil village.

Rashid Maseeh and Baboo Maseeh were absconding since March 2007 when police had registered a case under section 295-C of the PPC against them on the charges of desecrating some posters pasted in connection with Eid-i-Meladun Nabi.

The incident had sparked violent protests during which houses of some Christians were also attacked by zealots.

Both were declared proclaimed offenders.
