National TT from Dec 17

KARACHI, Nov 14: Seven gold medals will be at stake when the 46th National Table Tennis championship takes place at Wapda Gymnasium, Lahore, from Dec 17 to 22 under the aegis of Lahore Division.

The gold medals on offer will be in men’s singles, women’s singles, men’s doubles, women’s doubles, mixed doubles and the men and women’s team events.

Players representing 10 affiliated units of the Pakistan Table Tennis Federation (PTTF) are to vie for honours at the game’s annual premier event, a top PTTF official said on Friday.

The affiliated units are Sindh, Punjab, Balochistan, NWFP, Islamabad, Habib Bank, Railways, Wapda, HEC and Army.

Wapda and Habib Bank are the reigning men and women’s team event champions. Wapda beat Habib Bank 3-1 to pick the men’s crown while the bankers blanked Wapda 3-0 to grab the women’s title.
