MINGORA, Nov 14: Security forces repulsed an attack by militants on a security post near the Sui gas plant in Balogram on Friday.

According to the army’s Swat Media Centre, the militants stormed the checkpost manned by paramilitary forces, but the timely action by the troops forced them to flee. The exchange of fire continued for several hours.

The attack, sources said, was aimed at blowing up the Sui gas plant in Balogram near the district headquarters Mingora.

The local administration has tightened security around the Sui gas plant and the power grid station in the Swat district. The Taliban in the past had blown up these installations causing disconnection of electricity and gas for several days. — Correspondent
