QUETTA, Nov 3: Members of parliament of the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (Fazl) from Balochistan and the party’s provincial legislators will donate their one month salary to the fund for rehabilitation of the earthquake affected people.

A joint meeting of JUI-F’s executive committee and parliamentary group in the Balochistan assembly held here on Monday discussed issues relating to relief and rehabilitation.

The meeting presided over by Maulana Mohammad Khan Sherani decided that the party’s district organisations in Balochistan would set up camps for collecting funds and relief goods for the affected people.

The party’s ministers and parliamentarians would meet Chief Minister Nawab Aslam Raisani to discuss the pace of relief work and work out a mechanism for making the rehabilitation process transparent.

The meeting urged the government to involve Ziarat’s district nazim in relief and rehabilitation work.

It said the role of army should be confined to supervising the relief operation and the civil administration should be assigned the responsibility of distributing relief goods.
