KARACHI, Nov 3: Five ships to load/offload containers, cement, palm oil, wheat and phosphoric acid were accommodated berths during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Monday.

Meanwhile, two more ships carrying chemicals and containers also arrived at the outer anchorage.

Eight ships, Maersk Novazzano, Karavador, Gold Beam Trader, Word Pride, Sea Sky, Ginga Lanner and Jorita, were busy in loading and unloading containers, cement, wheat, palm oil, furnace oil, chemicals and iron ore.

A cargo volume of 73,454 tons comprising 65,534 tons of import and 7,920 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sea Sky and Gold Beam Trader sailed out while Maaersk Novazzano was expected leave the port.
