LAHORE, Nov 2: Punjab Governor Salmaan Taseer has said the government is providing all possible protection to foreign investment.

Talking to Korean Ambassador Shin Un at the Governor’s House here on Sunday, the governor said that huge investment opportunities were available in engineering, electronics, sports, oil and gas, construction and food processing sectors in Pakistan and facilities were being provided to foreign investors under one-window operation.

He said that Pakistanis were a peaceful nation and did not have any extremist attitudes. “We have also offered maximum sacrifices in the war against terror during the past few years”, he said.

The Korean ambassador praised the role played by Pakistan in the international war against terrorism.

Mr Un said the Korean government would offer all possible assistance for the promotion of higher education and teachers’ training programmes in Pakistan.
