ISLAMABAD, Oct 24: Chinese pair, Chen I-Ta and Lee Hsin-Han, claimed the men’s doubles title in the ITF Pakistan Futures (F2) International Tennis Championship defeating the second seed pair Syrym Abdukhalikov (Kazakhstan) & Vasiliev Mikhail (Russia) in straight sets in the final played at the PTF Tennis Complex on Friday.
In the deciding match of the series the unseeded pair defeated Abdukhalikov and Vasiliev 6 - 3, 6 - 3.
Both, Chen and Lee, built up the winning lead 3-0 breaking the second game of the first set of Abdukhalikov and Vasiliev 15-40 by playing good volleys.
The Chinese pair kept the pressure up in the first set hitting cross court shots at crucial stages and won the first set at 6-3.
Abdukhalikov (Kazakhstan) and Vasiliev (Russia) made number of errors in the first set.
In the second set Chen and Lee continued the pressure in same fashion and built up the lead 3-1 breaking the third game of the second set of Vasiliev.
The Chinese pair won the second set in the same manner at 6-3 and won the doubles title.
Chen and Lee received glittering shields along with cash prize of US $630 whereas Abdukhalikov and Vasiliev pocketed US $330 as runner-up.
