LAYYAH, Oct 14: Police arrested a hoaxer on Tuesday for giving a call to the district coordination officer’s (DCO’s) office that a bomb was planted at the Layyah Poly Technical Institute, said District Police Officer Dr Muhammad Azam.

Muhammad Bilal called the DCO office at 2.50pm through a cell phone that the bomb would go off at the college.

After the call, bomb disposal staff, officials of special branch and police got vacated college and hostel premises.

After a thorough sweeping of the college, the call turned out to be a hoax.

Mr Azam said that police traced the caller and arrested him. He said law enforcing agency officials were investigating the case.
