MIRPURKHAS, Oct 3: Residents of Mohammad Yaqoob Mahar village have expressed concern over encroachment by land mafia at irrigation land adjacent Mirpurkhas Railway Employees Housing Society, as a result of which they maintained that the only path leading to their village and other areas, including Juma Machhi Para, Rangar Para and Kumbhar Para has been blocked.

Talking to journalists on Friday, a group of villages alleged that the Mukhtiarkar of Mirpurkhas Goth Abad Scheme had issued fake certificates in back dates to some people who had encroached the irrigation department’s land situated in Deh 109 on the basis of those fake certificates.

They deplored that land mafia had blocked their way that was used by hundreds of people. They condemned the government functionaries for not taking legal action against the land mafia.

They demanded of the DCO, EDO revenue and district officer revenue to conduct a survey, cancel fake certificates of Gothabad scheme and ensure removal of the encroachments.
