LAHORE, Sept 29: Bomb hoax calls at the Lahore High Court (LHC) and a foreign bank in Gulberg created panic among the staff and visitors on Monday, police said.

Civil Lines SP Sohail Akhtar Sokhera told Dawn that unidentified caller informed the LHC security staff at around 7:30am that a bomb would explode at Old AG Office building on LHC premises.

He said the police and bomb disposal squad personnel rushed to the spot, got the building evacuated and screened it before clearing it after some time.

Ghalib Market police and bomb disposal squad personnel also gave security clearance to a Royal Bank of Scotland branch in industrial area in Gulberg, after its administration received a prank call.
