One killed in fierce gunbattle

SUKKUR, Sep 20: One person of Solangi clan died and his son was injured in an armed clash between Kosh and Solangi communities over an old enmity in kutcha area of Machiyan-Jo-Goth near Daulatpur in the jurisdiction of Machko police near Ubauro late on Friday night.

Over 50-armed men belonging to Kosh community attacked on cattle farm of Kajoo alias Fauj Ali Solangi, situated in the kutcha area of Sindh-Punjab border of Machiyan-Jo-Goth near Daulatpur and opened indiscriminate fire which was returned by Solangi community men.

Later armed persons from both the communities opened fire on each other. Kosh community men also fired with rocket launchers as a result of which Kajoo alias Fauj Ali Solangi died after being hit by rocket shrapnel and bullets while his young son Shahzado 17, alias Sedro Solangi received serious bullet injuries.

The armed Kosh community men crossed the Indus by boats and fled. Body of Kajoo Solangi was shifted to Sadiqabad hospital for post- mortem while Shahzado Solangi was shifted to Rahim Yar Khan hospital for treatment.
