OKARA, Sept 19: The decision of the Divisional Public School management to enhance fees for all classes has drawn the flak as most of the parents (guardians of students) feel burdened by the education expenses.
Criticising what they call a big increase in the monthly fees, they demand that the school management revert the decision.
Speaking to Dawn, some members of the middle-class families claimed that the DPS administration had increased Rs300 a month fee for students from nursery to intermediate level, which is unjustified to say the least.
It is learnt that the DPS Board of Governors, which is headed by DCO Farhan Aziz Khwaja, has approved the fee enhancement.
The parents also demanded that they be given representation in the DPS board of governors so that they could have a say on several important issues concerning their children.
The DPS administration justifies the decision by saying that the ongoing construction work in the school has necessitated increasing the fees.
The remarkable results the school has shown in the recent years also have prompted the management to enhance fees that will help the school allow 20 per cent raise to the teachers, it adds.
