NAWABSHAH: Lecturers oppose principal’s move

NAWABSHAH, Sept 18: The Nawabshah chapter of the Sindh Professors and Lecturers Association continued hunger strike outside the press club in protest against the principal of Government Degree College on Thursday.

The protesters including president of SPLA Nawabshah Imam Ali Birhamani, Ghulam Hussain Magsi, Dr Mohammed Khan Jamali, Aurangzeb Bhangwar, Khalid Buriro and Ghulam Mustafa said that the principal got Prof Anwar Mansoor Mangrio transferred because he had exposed his corruption.

They said that Prof Mangrio was the only teacher of Sindhi subject in the college and students were facing trouble in studies after his transfer.

They said that a general body meeting of SPLA had demanded enquiry against the principal and urged Sindh Education Minister Pir Mazharul Haq to direct the officials concerned to take back the transfer orders and conduct enquiry against the principal.

BOOKED: Police booked on Thursday four people on charges of kidnapping a girl. Gharibo Bagri of Lakhat village stated in an FIR lodged at Lakhat police station that Rustam Jatoi, Zahid Khaskheli, Hussain Bux Jatoi and Pyaro Jatoi barged into his house when he was on work and took away his daughter Jeevan Bagri, 16, at gunpoint.
