ISLAMABAD, Sept 15: A passerby was killed when he was hit by a bullet fired by a man to kill his father-in-law here on Monday.

TK, a native of Tribal Areas, had a tussle with his wife many years ago and his wife went to her parents’ house and used to live there since then.

The couple had a scuffle over unidentified reason. As a result both the families got involved in unending quarrels.

On Monday, TK arrived at the house of his father-in-law Rafique Khan in Alipur Frash, also a native of Tribal Areas, and had a scuffle with him after exchange of harsh words.

During scuffle TK pulled out his pistol and started firing on his father-in-law, but he survived. Unfortunately one of the bullets hit Barkat Hussain, passing through the area and going to market for buying ice.

He was taken to the hospital where doctors pronounced him dead. The alleged killer escaped from the scene in a taxi.

A message was aired from the police control room to alert all the patrolling teams to cordon off the area. However, till the filing of this report the police was conducting search to arrest the killer.
