ATTOCK, Sept 7: On the directive of the Punjab chief minister, a subsidy of Rs200,000 is being provided to small farmers for purchase of only Pakistan-made tractors to boost agricultural production in the district.

In a statement, District Coordination Officer Saqib Zafar said framers and agriculturists having five acres to 25 acres agricultural land in irrigated and 50 acres in arid areas could benefit from the scheme.

Application forms would be issued from the DCO and deputy district officers revenue offices against a fee of Rs250. He said last date for submission of the applications was September 15.

Farmers who had obtained tractors during the last five years under agricultural or any other loan and were defaulter of the ZTBL would not be eligible for the scheme.
