KARACHI: Cut in oil prices urged

KARACHI, Sept 7: Transporters expressing concern over the prices of petroleum have called upon political parties to play their due role to bring the prices down.

In a joint statement issued here on Sunday, Mohammad Ashraf Banglori, Chaudary Mazhar Hussain, Tanzeem Khan and Nazeer Banglori said that petroleum prices had come down from 148 dollar a barrel to 107 a barrel in the international oil market but here the government was reluctant to reduce the oil prices.

They said that despite the cut of 40 dollars a barrel in the petroleum prices in international market the rulers were not ready to pass on the benefit to the people, which was a condemnable act.

They demanded that the government should bring down the oil prices as it had cast its impact on prices of all essential commodities.—PPI
