KARACHI, Sept 3: The selection committee of the Pakistan Golf Federation (PGF) on Wednesday named a three-member Pakistan team for the World Amateur golf championship for Eisenhower Trophy to be staged in Adelaide, Australia, from Oct 16 to 19.

The team was picked after four round of trials held at the Islamabad Golf Club and were participated by 20 top amateur golfers from across the country.

National champion Mohammad Safdar was exempted from the trials.

Two golfers who topped the trials were picked. They were Hamza Amin of the Islamabad Golf Club and Mohammad Ali Hai of the Karachi Golf Club.

Adil Jahangir was named standby.

PGF secretary Taimur Hassan will accompany the team as manager cum captain and attend the meeting of the World Golf Council to be held during the course of the championship.

Over fifty countries will take part in the contest.—APP
