PESHAWAR: Power supply normalises in Peshawar after a week

PESHAWAR, Aug 16: The Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco) on Saturday restored power supply to the provincial capital, which was disrupted after miscreants blew up a tower of the main transmission line near Sheikh Mohammadi area on August 8.

In a statement issued here on Saturday, a Pesco spokesman said that the technical staff of the public utility completed rehabilitation work on the damaged 500KV tower.

Nearly 70 per cent of consumers in Peshawar were affected as they had to face a daily 16 to 18 hours of power outages during this period.

The Pesco spokesperson thanked the consumers for cooperating with the public utility during the period.

He said rehabilitation of such a huge tower was not an easy task but keeping in view the hardships of the people; the Pesco’s engineers worked day and night to make it possible.

He, however, clarified that routine load management will be continued as per the schedule already issued.
