KARACHI, Aug 16: Five ships carrying containers, chemicals and wheat arrived at the outer anchorage during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Saturday.

A total of seven ships, AI-Mansourah, Alexi-1, Alabama Belle, Yanaseni, AI-Soor-II, Sea Sky and Dubai Crown, were busy in loading and unloading cement, wheat, chemicals, diesel oil, furnace oil and iron ore.

A cargo volume of 42,982 tons comprising 35,531 tons of import and 7,451 tons of export tonnage was handled.

AI-Soor-II and Yanaseni sailed out while Inori was due to depart.
