KARACHI: Survey of 23 private zoos ordered

KARACHI, Aug 5: Sindh Wildlife Minister Dr Dayaram Essrani has directed the chief conservator of wildlife to carry out a survey of 23 private zoos in Karachi so that illegal trade of rare species could be effectively checked.

He said that Sindh was blessed with some of the rare animals in the world and it was the responsibility of the government as well as the entire society to protect them.

The minister ordered the chief conservator to submit a detailed report in this regard. Mr Essrani said that strict action would be taken against those found involved in the illegal trade of rare animals.—PPI
