CHARSADDA, July 20: A clash over the ownership of a tree claimed two lives here on Sunday.

According to the police, members of two families opened indiscriminate firing on each other in the fields in Shakar Dhand area of Sardheri, killing Mohammad Ayaz from one side and Mohammad Ali from the other.

Mohammad Ismail lodged a case with the police, saying that Zar Ali, his brother Kamil and Mohammad Ali allegedly opened fire on them, killing his son Ayaz on the spot.

However, Noor Mohammad reported to the police that Ayaz and his accomplice, namely Doctor, killed his nephew Ali.

The motive behind the incident was stated a dispute between the two families over the ownership of a poplar tree on the boundary of their fields. The local police registered two FIRs on the complaint of both parties and started investigations.
