PESHAWAR, July 16: Two persons were killed and one was kidnapped in separate incidents here on Wednesday.

A complainant, Niaz Mohammad, told police that Mohammad alias Gongatay was sitting in his shop in Badbher area when two armed men came and shot him dead. He nominated Islam Gul and Nasim of Surizai Payan in the FIR. The motive behind the murder could not be ascertained.

However, police said the victim had some dubious activities. A murder case was registered against the accused but they could not be arrested so far.

In another incident a dead body of a young man was found in the limits of Nasir Bagh police station which reportedly bore signs of bullet injuries.

An official of the concerned police station said that the body was found in tribal region which did not fall under their jurisdiction. He said the body could not be identified.

Meanwhile, unidentified armed persons kidnapped a well known dealer of music cassettes, Awal Khan, and injured his brother on Tuesday night.

A police official said that Awal Khan along with his brother Haji Gul Mohammad was going to home in a motorcar when a group of armed men stopped them at a bridge known as Bara Pul in Pundo area. The armed persons kidnapped Awal Khan and injured his brother on resistance.

His brother told police that he could not recognise the kidnapers.

14 ARRESTED: Police claimed to have arrested 14 proclaimed offenders during raids in different areas and recovered weapons from their possession.

A city police spokesman said that some of the arrested persons were identified as Rukhan, Hleem Said, of Din Bahar Colony, Fakhar Alam of Sarband and Sher Mohammad of Peshtakhara.

He said that Dildar of Sufaid Deri, Mohammad Ali of Michni Gate, Liaquat of Bara Gate, Meraj, Sher Zada of Mathra, Gul Rahim of Faqir Kalay, Jan Mohammd and Zahir of Badbher were also among the detained proclaimed offenders.
