Dera nazim to challenge no-trust move results

DERA GHAZI KHAN, July 3: In yet another balloting for a no-trust move against District Nazim Maqsood Leghari on Thursday, 53 union council nazims voted for the move while 22 nazims against it. Two votes were rejected.

The session was held on the directions of court and presided over by the DG Khan additional district and sessions court judge

Assistant Election Commissioner Nadeem Zubair Warraich told Dawn that he would send the results to higher authority for further action.

Mr Leghari said that he would challenge the result in court as “incomplete” house could not take up no-confidence move.

He said the house consisted of 85 members while 77 cast their votes. Eight seats of nazims are lying vacant.

BLOOD AT PICNIC: Police have arrested a union council nazim and his accomplices for allegedly killing their friend at local resort Fort Munro.

Dil Gurchani, union council nazim, along with Sher Afgan Gurchani and Inam Gurchani was picnicking at Fort Munro with some other friends.

On Wednesday night, a scuffle erupted among them and enraged Gurchani brothers killed Ahmed Hassan Leghari and injured Yousaf Leghari.

The culprits fled from the murder scene but were later arrested at Rakhi Gaj check post on Dera-Quetta Road. Border Military Police registered a case against assailants.
