PESHAWAR, July 3: The capital city police officer has banned carrying of arms, ammunitions, explosive substance or any other instruments capable of being used for physical violence or dangerous to human life and public property.

A statement issued from the CCPO’s office here on Thursday said no vehicle having tinted glass would be allowed in the limits of Peshawar for the sake of security, adding that violation of the orders would be dealt with under the law and such weapons and vehicles could be seized.

It said that due to the prevailing situation in the Peshawar district and the operation against miscreants in the adjacent tribal area there was likelihood that miscreants might enter Peshawar and disturb the peace of the area.

The orders, which would remain in force till July 5, would not apply to personnel of the armed forces, police and the Frontier Constabulary deputed on official duty, the statement said.

Meanwhile, traffic police on Thursday ticketed over 300 vehicles with tinted glasses and those without number plats plying on different roads in the city.

FIRE: A fire broke out in a house in Dhaki Dalgaran in the old city area, destroying the house and also affecting neighbouring houses, police and fire brigade officials said.

A police official said the fire was caused by a pressure cooker in the house of Tehsinullah and Yaseenullah, both sons of Umer Gul. The fire, he said, spread to adjacent houses and it was controlled after about three hours of efforts of the fire brigade, police personnel and local people.
