By Our Correspondent

TAXILA, June 25: Three persons were killed during stone blasting at Haro in Salargah area, Taxila Cantonment police said on Wednesday.

The deceased, all working as labourers at a stone crushing unit owned by Dildar Khan, were buried under tons of rock and gravel when dynamite blasts triggered a landslide. Two of the victims were identified as Imran and Asif, while the name of the third one could not be known.

Eye-witnesses said the incident occurred due to lack of safety measures at the stone crushing unit, adding that there were also no arrangements to give first aid to the victims.

Meanwhile, a girl committed suicide by hanging herself in Garri Afganan village, the Wah Cantonment police said on Wednesday.

Officials said Areema Nadeem, 17, took the extreme step because her father, a drug addict, and mother used to beat her for no reason.
