Centre to help Sindh for peace in Karachi

By Our Reporter

ISLAMABAD, May 3: The government has prepared a strategy to support the Sindh government in maintaining peace in Karachi and other parts of the province, according to the adviser to the Prime Minister on interior, Rehman Malik.

Talking to Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad, who called on him here on Saturday, he said the provincial government should rigorously curb crimes and maintain the law and order situation, adding that the federal government would provide its ‘full support’.

Expressing satisfaction over steps taken by the provincial government for controlling street and organised crimes, he said that because of concerted government efforts, city life was back to normal.

Welcoming the Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s participation in the Sindh government, the adviser to the Prime Minister said people of Sindh, especially traders, had termed it an important development for the province’s stability.

The governor praised Mr Malik’s efforts for maintaining peace in the largest city of the country.
