LAHORE, May 3: Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Muhammad Pervez Rathore has said he will improve the police working and come up to people’s expectations.

At his maiden interaction with reporters at Qilla Gujjar Singh Police Lines on Saturday, Rathore said “honest, efficient and devoted police officers” were being posted in the city to change the police attitude towards citizens and redress people’s grievances quickly.

He again directed field police officers to ensure their presence in their offices from 4pm to 7pm to listen to complainants.

The CCPO said corrupt station house officers would be thrown out of the department. He asked reporters to point out such SHOs so that action could be taken against them.

Rathore said both investigation and operations wing would work jointly against the criminals.

He said he would ensure free registration of cases and deal with irresponsible police officials with an iron hand. He said police would not stage encounters instead it would follow the law and take the criminals to the court of law.
