KARACHI, May 3: Seven ships carrying containers and coal are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Sunday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side as the port agencies tried to clear the onward rush of foreign flag vessels during the last couple of days.

Eight ships including Oel Trust, Hanjin Chittagong and Oil Mumbai to unload and load containers, Iron Butterfly to offload general cargo, Moondance-2 to offload coal, Sinar Agra to unload chemicals and Doris to offload palm oil were berthed after the departure of four.

The departing ships were led by Calvin P. Titus, Iron Butterfly, Iran Faraz and Noor-i-Madina, while Oel Mumbai, Doris, Orient Stride, Hanjin Chittagong, Pearl, Moondance-2 and Sealo-1 are due to sail out on Sunday.

A total tonnage of 92,166 tons comprising 41,218 tons of export cargo including 7,982 tons of cement, 7,100 tons of clinkers and 3,079 tons of rice and 50,938 tons of import tonnage was handled on Saturday.

The following ships are due on Sunday: Fortune Viotoria to offload high speed diesel and jet oil, Swat with 65,000 tons crude oil, Fillipa, King Brain, Jitra Bhum, Bunga Kenari with containers, Nemtas-2 with coal.

The following vessels are due on Monday: Mol Affinity, Kota Mesra, and Wan Hai-303 with containers.
