Farhan qualifies for semi-finals
PESHAWAR, April 29: Second seed Farhan Mehboob outclassed former world No 10 Amjad Khan in straight sets in the quarter-final of the NWFP All-Pakistan Senior squash tournament at the PAF Hashim Khan Squash Complex on Tuesday.
Farhan won 11-8, 11-7, 11-9.
In the other quarter-finals, Arshad Iqbal Burki, who recently represented Pakistan in the Malaysian Open, defeated Bilal Zaman 11-8, 8-11, 11-7, 11-9 in 55 minutes.
Former British junior champion Safeerullah exhibited excellent display of long rallies and smashes to beat Majid Khan 11-6, 11-9, 11-8 in 45 minutes.
Mansoor Zaman, using drop shots, nick shots, forehand and backhand drives, took 48 minutes to beat Waqar Mehboob 11-9, 11-7, 11-6.
Mansoor will face Safeerullah in the first semi-final while Arshad Burki will be up against Farhan Mehboob in the other semi-final.—APP
