Pakistani dies in Indian hospital

AMRITSAR, April 29: A Pakistani national, allegedly suffering from split personality disorder, died in a government hospital in India three days ago, Amritsar central jail Superintendent S.P. Singh said on Tuesday.

Mohammad Akram, arrested in February 2008 after he had crossed the border illegally, died in the Government Medical College Hospital, he said.

Akram was a resident of Faisalabad, and was suffering from schizophrenia, Mr Singh claimed.

His case was still pending in a court, he added.

Mr Singh said his autopsy could not be performed because he was a Pakistani national. –PPI
