TEHRAN, April 28: Iran could play friendly games for its World Cup campaign in the United States after receiving an invitation from the US football authorities, Iranian media reported on Monday.

The invitation is for a ten day training camp based around Los Angeles and two possible friendly matches from June 23 to July 3, the state news agency IRNA reported.

“We received the formal and written invitation from the US soccer federation on Saturday evening” the deputy head of the Iranian football federation, Mehdi Taj, was quoted as saying.
