LAHORE, April 28: Taking a note of the use of black window panes and screens by the police officers in their vehicles, Punjab IGP Shaukat Javed has directed the field police officers to remove them within 24 hours or face strict disciplinary action.

A handout said that some police officers were using black window panes and screens in their vehicles although no one was lawfully authorized to do so.

The IGP also directed the Punjab Traffic DIG to ensure legal action against the police officers who failed to comply with the order and submit a report to him in within a week.

MEETING: Investigation section of the police department is being established on modern lines under which experienced investigation officers having good repute are being appointed to ensure investigation on merit.

Punjab IGP Shaukat Javed expressed these views while addressing the open court at Central Police Office on Monday.

As many as 59 people presented their applications to the IG who forwarded them to the police officers concerned for the redressal of their grievances.
