Court stays no-trust move

JACOBABAD, April 26: The Larkana bench of the Sindh High Court on Friday stayed no-confidence move against District Nazim Begum Saeeda Soomro filed by Pakistan People’s Party-backed Awam Dost Panel nazims a couple of weeks ago.

She told journalists that she court had stayed the move up to May 23rd. She had done nothing wrong and the no-confidence motion against her was mala fide and politically motivated.

Assistant Election Commissioner Hashamuddin Soomro said that he had not yet received the stay order. He had only got a circular from the convenor of district council informing him that the council would meet on April 30 when the no-confidence move would be tabled.

Begum Soomro held a meeting with DCO Mohammad Rashid, EDO works Mehmood Lakho and other district officials to review progress on running development works.

She directed the EDO of works to expedite work on the projects and schemes and also directed to issue tenders for the remaining development works before June 2008.
