LAHORE, April 26: The Punjab government on Saturday transferred and posted senior officers besides terminating the contract of an official.

Secretary Education Qazi Afaq Ahmad was transferred and posted as Board of Revenue member. The post of the secretary education in BS-21 was abolished. The department was bifurcated into schools and higher education, which meant abolition of the posts of special secretaries of the two nomenclatures.

Following the decision, Secretary Industries Khalid Gilani was transferred and posted as secretary education (schools) with additional charge of the Literacy and Non-Formal Education section. Planning and Development member Arifa Saboohi was also posted as secretary education (higher education).

Special Secretary (Schools) Zahid Saeed and Special Secretary (Higher Education) Muzaffar Mahmood were transferred and sent to the S&GAD.

OSD Jamal Mustafa Syed was posted as Rawalpindi DCO vice Irfan Elahi who was now assigned the job of Parks and Horticulture Authority director-general. He has replaced Saeed Nawaz who was directed to report to the S&GAD and was expected to be given some other important posting in a day or two.

Clean Water Project’s Project Director Asad Rehman Gilani was transferred and posted as additional secretary in the senior minister’s secretariat against a newly-created post. Benevolent Fund Secretary Abdul Qadir of the PTCL was sent to the federal government.

The government terminated the contractual appointment of irrigation department’s Ehsanullah Sardar.

Meanwhile, it is learnt that the federal government has handed over the services of DIG Motorway Pervaiz Rathore to the provincial government.POLICE: Punjab inspector general of police has transferred and posted more officers in the province.

According to a notification issued on Saturday, Shahid Mehboob, PP/BS-18, on promotion from DSP Welfare and PQR Punjab, is transferred and posted as Special Branch SP against an existing vacancy.

Defence circle Lahore SPO, ASP Ayyaz Saleem, is transferred and posted as Chiniot circle, Jhang, SDPO, replacing Khalid Bashir who is transferred and posted as Shorkot circle, Jhang, SDPO. Sadiqabad circle, Rahim Yar Khan SDPO ASP Junaid Ahmed is transferred and posted as City circle, Rahim Yar Khan SDPO against an existing vacancy while Saddar circle, Fiasalabad, SPO ASP Tanveer Alam Odho is transferred and posted as Sadiqabad circle, R Y Khan SPO.

Besides, 15 DSPs, either be posted in different circles and other branches of the police department or awaiting posting, have also been transferred and posted.
