KARAK: Nazim criticises police

Published April 27, 2008

KARAK, April 26: A local government representative has alleged that the district police have failed to check the rising crimes particularly the kidnappings.

The Latamber Union Council (UC) nazim Maulana Saleemullah, addressing a press conference here on Saturday, said that gambling, narcotics business and other social crimes were on the rise with each passing day while the Station House Officer (SHO) of the Latamber police station had kept a ‘mum’ over the situation.

He further alleged that the police were playing the role of a silent spectator and were least bothered to arrest the galloping ratio of crimes in the union council.

Maulana Saleemullah demanded of the provincial police chief Malik Naveed and DIG Kohat range to mend the ways of the Karak police otherwise they would have to take some measures to bring peace to the district.
