PMDC team inspects college

SUKKUR, April 25: A 12-member team of the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) on Friday visited Ghulam Mohammad Mahar Medical College and the Civil Hospital Sukkur and got themselves apprised of the facilities being provided there.

The team, led by PMDC vice-president and vice-chancellor of Dow Medical College Professor Dr Masood Hameed, during its visit met the principal and teaching staff of the college who briefed them about the facilities and equipment provided there and apprised them about their requirements.

The team also met students and asked about facilities provided to them.

According to sources the team would submit its report to the executive committee of the PMDC in Islamabad on Saturday.

The sources said that later a representative of the PMDC would appear before the Sindh High Court Sukkur Bench on April 30, and would submit a report about the college’s affiliation with the Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences.

The PMDC team also visited the Civil Hospital Sukkur and inspected different wards and enquired from patients about the facilities and medical treatment provided to them by the hospital management.
