TAXILA, April 25: Eight persons, including five women, were held on the charge of running a brothel in a hotel in Hassanabdal on Thursday night.

Police said they raided the hotel situated on GT Road near the main bus stand and arrested Shabana, Nadia, Asya, Neena and Komal along with Aurangzeb, Irfan and Mansoor.

Police also booked the manger of the hotel identified as Mazhar Shah. Sources in the police said the brothel was running in the hotel for a long time.

However, some eyewitnesses told this reporter that the police had also arrested two other persons from the hotel but later they were set free due to unknown reasons.—Our Correspondent
