Nazim terms new set-up hostile
By Mohammad Hussain Khan
HYDERABAD, April 25: Tando Allahyar District Nazim Dr Rahila Gul Magsi has alleged that vindictive actions are being taken against her allies by the newly installed administration and claimed that three of her allies have been kidnapped by PPP MPA Imdad Pitafi, Tando Allahyar taluka nazim Haji Khair Mohammad Khokhar with the connivance of police in order to force them to change their loyalties.
She was speaking at a press conference at her residence here on Friday.
She said that with the installation of new provincial government entire administration in her district had been changed. “We accept success of the PPP and had really expected that it would work with us peacefully but now I feel that things are not going that way,” she said while referring to alleged kidnappings of UC naib nazim of Dad Jarwar, Sattar Bozdar, taluka council member of Chambar Kanhya Lal and Nazeer Lanjwani.
She claimed that they were confined in the Kot of the Khokhars for past seven days.
She said that out of 28 members of Tando Allahyar district council, 20 members were with her and opponents required two-third majority which meant 19 members were needed to oust her through a no confidence motion.
“DCO, DPO and other officials have been changed by the Sindh government and my supporters are being subjected to police excesses. The DCO of Tando Allahyar has become a stooge and is working against me round the clock,” she charged.
She said that those who believed that the Magsis would run away were daydreaming.
She referred to damages and monetary losses caused to her property in the wake of murder of Ms Benazir Bhutto on December 27 last year.
“Our plaza was burnt in Chambar area and 20 vehicles parked were reduced to ashes but we exercise restraint then,” she said.
To a question she confirmed her meeting with PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif and said that she had discussed various issues with him in Raiwind.
She said any decision to join the PML-N would be taken after consultation with allies.
On the occasion former Sindh revenue minister Dr Irfan Gul Magsi said 27 FIRs had been registered against their allies and 47 people had obtained bail.
He said people like Haji Khair Mohammad Khokhar and Abdul Ghani Dars who joined Arbab-led PML had now joined the PPP. He said even today their supporters were threatened when they were coming to attend this press conference.
