LAHORE, April 24: The Pakistan People's Party (PPP) will hold tripartite negotiations before announcing the new labour policy, says PPP Punjab Secretary General Chaudhry Ghulam Abbas.

Talking to the media here on Thursday after a party meeting in connection with the World Labour Day to be marked on May 1, Abbas said a labour wing meeting had been convened for May 3 to discuss tripartite talks among employers, employees and the government.

He said recommendations regarding the new labour policy would be sent to the federal government by the end of this month.

He said the PPP would observe the Labour Day at all divisional headquarters with traditional fervour. In Lahore, a rally would be taken from the Railway Station to Charing Cross. Federal Labour Minister Khurshid Shah, provincial ministers and party office-bearers would participate in the rally, he added.

PML-N: The PML-N will never accept `minus-one’ formula for the reinstatement of judges, says central finance secretary and former MNA Muhammad Pervaiz Malik.

"We don't accept the so-called minus-one formula for reinstatement of judges and completely reject it," Malik told a reception held for him here on Thursday.

He said the nation and its leadership were at the back of deposed judges and that the move for their reinstatement could not be blocked by any individual.

About Punjab cabinet decision of audit of local government institutions, he said it was a positive step as corruption could not be tolerated at any level.

He said the PML-N would introduce long-term reforms for raising living standards of people by ensuring peace and stability and overcoming unemployment, inflation, backwardness and poverty in the country.
