HYDERABAD: Political parties warned

Bureau Report

HYDERABAD, April 24: Awami Tehrik chief Rasool Bux Palijo has warned that any political party which tried to create hurdles in the reinstatement of deposed chief justice and other judges of the superior judiciary will be signing its own ‘death warrant’.

He was talking to party workers at the Awami House here on Wednesday.

He said when the peoples’ power could force President Pervez Musharraf to back down it could also take on the political party which opposed the reinstatement of judges. He said the reinstatement of Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry and other deposed judges were not only essential to ensure the supremacy of law and Constitution but also to check the illegal and unconstitutional acts of the rulers.

He said those who were trying to create hurdles in the reinstatement of judges were in fact strengthening the hands of the dictator.

He said such party will be insulting the mandate of people of the country.
