Shoaib files fresh appeal against ban

By Our Sports Reporter

LAHORE, April 21: Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar filed a fresh appeal against the five-year ban, imposed by the PCB, before the Appellate Tribunal on Monday.

Shoaib was reprimanded for breaching the Players’ Code of Conduct on April 1. Four days later he submitted his appeal against the ban as the PCB chairman Dr Nasim Ashraf had formed the three-member Appellate Tribunal, headed by Justice Aftab Furrukh.

The tribunal in its first meeting on April 17 had asked Shoaib to file the appeal again by Monday.

However, the Appellate Tribunal chairman extended the date of the second hearing from April 26 to 28 as one of the members, Haseeb Ahsan, was not available.
