Teachers protest

Bureau Report

HYDERABAD, April 21: Over a dozen senior teachers appealed to the government on Monday to conduct impartial investigation into out-of-turn promotions to junior teachers at the cost of their senior colleagues, and alleged misappropriation of funds in Public School Hyderabad

Teachers’ leaders Sirajuddin Abro and Khalil Channa said at a news conference at the press club that the promotions had been given on ethnic basis and teachers of a particular community were being victimised and pressurised to resign from their posts. The school’s principal had violated the principle of merit and rules while granting promotions to most junior teachers, they said.
