NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, April 19: Twelve people, including two school teachers and some students, were injured in a clash over the use of unfair means in SSC examinations in a high school in Bhirya town on Saturday.

Some outsiders entered the Prince High School to help some students in cheating. A teacher, Nisar Ahmed Luhrani, stopped them from supplying solved papers to the students which infuriated them.

Another teacher, Asif, asked a student, Shahid, to refrain his brother from passing on solved papers.

After the paper ended, two groups on the National Highway clashed with each other in which sticks were used. As a result, four people of the Luhrani group and six of the Ansari group and two others were injured. They were taken to the Bhirya police station where they were given letters for medical treatment.

The police told Dawn that teacher Nisar Ahmed had lodged a non-cognisable report against six people and injured Ghulam Fareed had lodged a non-cognisable report against Nisar Ahmed and other teachers.

The police said that FIRs would be lodged after receiving medical reports of the injured.

No one was arrested till the filing of this report.

When the Bhirya rural health centre was contacted, Dr Javed Ahmed confirmed that 12 injured had been brought to the centre where they had been admitted.
