KASUR, April 18: Two members of a family were gunned down over an old enmity in the limits of Kanganpur police station here on Friday.
Reports said that accused Aslam, Ahmed Hussain, Riasat and others of the Chaudhry Ilyas group opened fire on Asghar Dogar and Abbas Dogar when they were going to their fields. As a result, Asghar died on the spot while Abbas perished while being taken to a hospital.
Kanganpur police were looking into the matter.
CASE REGISTERED: Mustafabad police on Friday registered a case against over 30 accused for allegedly roughing up town committee officials, destroying the record and throwing furniture on the road in a bid to occupy the office on Friday.
According to the FIR, the brother of former union council nazim of Daftoo Chaudhry Masood Bhatti along with over 30 armed accomplices reached the Mustafabad Town Committee office on Thursday and resorted to aerial firing, thrashed the officials and later threw the office record and furniture on the road.
The police also arrested two accused, Nasir Javid and Farooq Ahmed, while raids were on for the arrest of other accused.
