PESHAWAR: Polluted water being supplied in Haji Camp area

PESHAWAR, April 18: The contaminated water being supplied in Haji Camp area due to damaged pipelines has put the residents’ health at risk.

Zafarullah, a resident of the area, told Dawn that the drinking water being supplied to the area was contaminated and despite repeated requests the officials were not ready to resolve the problem.

He said that the pipelines of drinking water and that of sewage were damaged, causing contamination of the water being supplied to the residents. An alternate water supply line, Mr Zafar said, had been initiated but the pace of work was very slow, adding that if the scheme was further delayed, most of the people could fall prey to various infectious diseases.— Bureau Report
