HYDERABAD, April 18: Tando Mohammad Khan DCO formed a three-member committee to look into the causes that led to the deadly explosion in the Abadgar Sugar Mills on Thursday, which resulted in the death of seven people and injuries to over a dozen others

The committee would comprise EDO of revenue Mohammad Sharif Shaikh, Anwar Ali, chief inspector of boilers of the Industries Department and Aftab Qazi, deputy chief inspector of explosive department.

Anwar Ali said that he had visited the mills after explosion but he was concerned with steam boiler while the case pertained to molasses storage tank which had to be investigated from forensic or explosive point of view.

He said that he had submitted a report to the department concerned. Qazi Aftab said that he would visit explosion site in the mills on Saturday.

Seven people were killed and 14 others were injured when the mills’ molasses storage tank exploded at around 7.45 am before the mill management was going to close its crushing season at 8 am.—BoC
